What's been happening?
This past year we have undertaken a new role in the community and it has been, to say the least, overwhelming. Our owner, Steve Tompkins, has accepted an invitation to become a Career and Technologies Educator at our local High School.
Steve is teaching Audio and Visual Arts Courses along with Personal Computing, Networking and Application Program courses. He has developed and supports a growing Multimedia Club, a Computer Animation Club and a Audio Recording Club. Along with designing and building the high school's Middle and High School Computer Labs, he has built a video editing studio, still photography studio and audio recording studio. School year 2008-2009 Steve will be building our High School's first Television Production Studio with an integrated audio recording suite.
In addition we continue to support the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association Oral History project and the Blue Ridge Community Theater, Copper Basin's Learning Center.
What does all that mean? Well, first and foremost, we basically disappeared during this school year and must apologize to our customers. E-mail services went down, our web site disappeared and voice mail's are going unanswered. A poor example for a established business to say the least.
Currently school is enjoying Spring Break 08' which is giving us an opportunity to start getting our services back together and online. By the end of the school year we should be back up full speed. We will be following different business hours during the school year and will be aggressively servicing our customers.
To reach us, e-mail is the best way - info@TompkinsDigitalStudios.com
Our voicemail system will be taken down and the best time to reach us by phone is weekday evenings and all weekend at (423) 496-1902.
